1. What is Horaley.com?

Horaley.com is a monthly issue in which all artists can take place. Before every issue, we make an announcement about the next issue’s context. Artists who send their submissions should consider this context.

2. What does Horaley mean?

It has no meaning. It’s picked out just because of its phonetic posture and lovely standing. However, I have the belief that it means something similar to ‘hurrah hurray’ kind of exclamation in Turkish.

3. What about the logo?

It is clearly a factory. Then it stands for production and the source of production. Three notches and a pipe together imply a hand in the air wishing to ask a question. It makes us think about participation and you saying ‘I m in!’.

4. What is the format of Horaley?

Impalpable. It can be identified as a selection on the internet. The art works are exhibited on the 3rd day of each month in a virtual gallery.

5. Who created this site and why?

I did. I’m Erkin Gören. I think that each collective work teaches us to share. And if we learn to share, we can stand stronger on this slippery surface where we exist as artists. There’s no need to schmooze more. Let the work be our mirror.

6. How much does the concept of the month conceptualize me?

As much as you like. Horaley, like many things in the world, wants to feel that it has been valued. If there is a concept, there is something that Horaley knows about. You can either work on a special piece for the monthly issue or you can send a piece that you ve made ‘once upon a time’ as long as it is in coherence with the concept.. However, if you think like ‘Oh yeah, in Horaley I’ll hold a place and show off with this work of mine which has already taken place in all communal sites; I ll both click and put on airs’ then you make a mistake. Horaley, who is an experienced master, will at a moment’s notice recognize you, be offended by you and even its lips could tremble.. None of us would prefer it to be like that, right?

7. Apart from paintings, illustrations, design works and photographs, what can I send?

Anything that a jpeg file can carry. Audio and video files are not appropriate in format for Horaley.

8. Will each art work of mine have its place in Horaley?

There is no such guarantee. The outcome may change according to the monthly submission, the other art works, and your work’s coherence with the concept. If the work you’ve sent does not appear in Horaley, instead of getting annoyed, try with another work of yours. If you are not satisfied with the second try as well, try once more. If your work does still not appear in Horaley, then it is our impoliteness. Excuse us.

9. In which format should I send my work?

In jpeg format. Your art works will re-sized proportionally in Horaley.com.
